Privacy Policy

Bandwagn ("the app") is operated by Mofungo Games ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use Bandwagn, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the app you agree to this policy.

Information We Collect

• Account details — your email address and a password (stored only as a salted hash), or the identifier, name and email that Google or Facebook share with us when you sign in with them.
• Profile information you provide — your display name, photos, a background image, birthdate, bio, city, instruments, genres, the bands you like, bands you have played in, links, how many shows you have played, what you are looking for in bandmates, and whether you are currently looking for a band.
• Location — the city you choose or, if you allow it, your device's location, which we convert to a city and approximate coordinates. Coordinates are used for distance searches and are never shown to other users.
• Searches — the search criteria you save so you can run them again.
• Messages and activity — direct messages you send, thumbs ups, "Let's Jam" requests, and blocks.
• Device and technical data — a push notification token if you enable notifications, and standard server logs (IP address, request time, user agent) kept briefly for security and debugging.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect payment information, contacts, precise background location, or advertising identifiers. We do not sell your personal information and we do not show ads.

How We Use Information

• To show your profile to other users and to rank search results by shared taste, distance and the other criteria you choose.
• To deliver messages, thumbs ups and jam requests, and to send push notifications about them if you turn notifications on.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests.

What Other Users Can See

Your profile is visible to other signed-in users of Bandwagn. This includes your display name, photos, city, bio, instruments, genres, bands, band history, links, shows played, what you are looking for, and your thumbs-up count. Your age is shown only if you have not chosen to hide it; a hidden age is still used to apply other users' age-range filters. Your email, password, exact coordinates and birthdate are never shown.

Third-Party Services

• MusicBrainz, Deezer and ListenBrainz — we look up band names, genres, photos and similar-artist data from these public services when you add a band. Your identity is not sent to them.
• OpenStreetMap Nominatim — converts a city name or your coordinates into a location label. Your identity is not sent.
• Google and Facebook — only if you choose to sign in or link your account with them. Their own privacy policies govern what they collect.
• YouTube and Vimeo — videos linked on profiles are played through their embedded players, which may set their own cookies.
• Apple and Google push services — used to deliver notifications to your device if you enable them.
• Cloudflare — hosts the app, its database and uploaded images.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings (see how to delete your account and data). Deletion permanently removes your profile, photos, messages, saved searches, activity and linked sign-ins; thumbs ups you gave are withdrawn. A minimal, anonymised record of the account id may remain so that other users' data stays consistent. Server logs are retained for up to 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Bandwagn is for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Data Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with Cloudflare. Passwords are stored as salted hashes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Transfers

Bandwagn is operated from the United States and data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.

Your Choices

• Edit or remove any profile information in the app at any time.
• Hide your age, or turn off "looking for a band" to stop appearing in searches.
• Turn push notifications off in Settings or in your device settings.
• Block users you do not want to hear from.
• Delete your account from Settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date above.
